"Be the change that you wish to see in the world"

A platform to bring about change

KRM

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, speaking to a group of young scholars, urged them to “change the world” through global citizenship, and to help the United Nations respond as “one human family” to major international challenges.

The above sums up the essence of any UN Conference or its simulation.

KRMUN seeks to provide a forum to get familiar with the global issues, to understand how the United Nations works and deals with challenges of our times. In the process, participants acquire new skill sets of negotiation which is an important tool in today’s globalised world. So at KRMUN, discuss, debate, problem solve, and most importantly, have fun of learning and understanding.

We would like the participants to realize, where does our world stand today, and more specifically we, as an individual stand today on a global scale. This would only be possible when an individual steps into the role of a diplomat and involve himself in discussing and understanding the issues of global concern. For this to happen, what could be a better platform than a Model United Nations conference? This conviction has always inspired our team.

This Conference is the culmination of a year of hard work, of rivalries and alliances, but most importantly, of friendship and memorable experiences. The agendas have issues that not only the committee directors strongly feel about but are of utmost importance to the global community today. Understandably, it might be difficult to assume the role of an ambassador of a country other than your own. However, that’s the very essence of a Model UN Conference.  The Conference aims to provide an amicable environment for people from diverse schools to come together and deliberate upon issues of crucial importance. The onus of making this annual meeting of budding ideas, ideals and idealists transcend local, cultural and political boundaries lies on you. During the conference,  try to make your experience at the conference move past just participation, for it is only then that you will be able to realize the true essence of KRMUN. We hope you enjoy this learning process and become more cognizant of the pressing issues facing us today.

The Secretariat looks forward to communicating with you before and during the Conference. We hope to provide delegates with an exciting and memorable experience which cannot be realized without your wholehearted participation and consistent support.

Thanking You

The Secretariat
